Cross threaded a wheel stud - safe to drive on 4 out of 5 lug nuts for a day?
As the title says - safe to drive on 4 out of 5 lug nuts for ~50 miles or so? About to snow and literally have no time to tear the rear brakes apart to change it till tomorrow night
Speed limits here are about 65-70 mph, and I will obviously take the corners slowly. Will my XJ spontaneously combust, or am I overthinking it?
How it happened:
I had a short time window to swap in my ZJ brakes and ran into a ton of issues due to rust. 4 hours turned into like 8 + hours for the install (parking brakes were the biggest time eater)
Got past all of the issues (except for a rusted shut and now stripped bleeder valve on the front drivers caliper, not ready to talk about that yet).
Went to put the wheels on and my new studs were grabbing a bit "tight" and all but two went on without issues. Well, I ended up cross threading one of the brand new lug-nuts after I am basically all finished up. Drove to Autozone to buy a new stud and lug-nut already but can't change it till after work tomorrow.
Already bought a set of 20 lug-nuts but they are shipping snail mail too. All new bolts but I forgot about ordering new wheel nuts for the new studs

I've seen vehicles come in with only 3 lugs holding on a wheel. so yea you can putz it around but if in terms of covering my *** and yours it's not recommended. stay away from highway speeds.

I wouldn't do it unless you have to. I had a wheel fall off on me once and it became a very expensive trip. But some things are unavoidable. Good luck and god speed.
