Dichotomy of two vehicles
In addition to the fleet I maintain for my kids I have two personal vehicles.
My XJ and an old Ram 1500
The Jeep is a thing of beauty
The Ram is Ugly, Rusted and beat up
I love the Jeep to death
I pay no attention to the Ram
I caress and maintain the Jeep daily
I open the hood of the Ram only if it doesn't start
The Jeep frustrates me weekly with some stupid thing that stopped working for no reason.
The Ram works everyday in defiance of me
Uggh. With all due respect to the other thread on more spatial matters can someone explain what sadistic god is messing with me?

i am experiencing the same situation with my xj and the ford. the ferd, as i named it, is the first vehicle i ever bought and did not immediately refresh. hell i didn't even change the oil until i had owned it for 6 months. it literally sat outside all winter, untouched. fired up immediately. in fact, it always does. appears to be 99% (factory installed to boot) stock. the scene under the hood is repulsive and embarrassing, especially coming from a "car guy". burnt plug wires, random cut wires, SEVERAL open vacuum lines. rust. rust and more rust. the truck is awesome in its own right and i'm afraid to mess with it bc it just works. wanted to share my story. i throw trash bags in the bed until it fills up then i empty it in a random dumpster. ive used it to pull cars home on a car trailer and move furniture, also. love it.
