Default did some custom work to the XJ today

ok, its not really custom work so much as i combined 4 different bungy cords to hold the hood down until i got home

i had to pop the hood for something then the hood release lever broke off in my hand, after it had released the hood, so the hood wont close now...so to drive the 25 min drive home i used what i had....and i gotta lotta stares....they were just jealous

haha...well if i had it......lol...nah...i always keep several bungis and several ratchet straps in that jeep bc you never know whats gonna fall off of it driving it home...

thats the only driving i do with it anymore...just to and from work, bc i dont want to leave my nice WJ in the back of a dark parking lot by itself for 7 days and nights...but i gotta tell you, that XJ is closer and closer with ever drive to becoming strictly a trail rig, trailer queen deal

i had to use that one bungi going from the hood to the roof rack bc if i didnt the others just kept sliding right off the hood....and thats why i didnt use one of the ratchet straps...bc i couldnt keep it from sliding off the hood as i was ratcheting it tight...

Good excuse to go to autozone and get you some of those external hood latches, kind of like what you see on some wranglers, Those would look cool.

I think I would use hood pins, before the rubber bungees used on the wranglers or CJ's. They seem to self destruct

Yep! those are exactly what I was talking about, I just couldnt think of what they were called. I was thinking like what they use on race cars but I wasnt sure if that would make sense.

When you drive an XJ you learn to make stuff work. Good Job IMHO.

Why in the world are you using universal battery hold downs on your hood?

thanx blue...and aint it the truth...when you drive your wheeling rig with 212,000 miles to work, and back, youve gotta expect something...

heck, 2 weeks ago when i was going home, my heater valve went bad and leaked all my coolant out so it overheated on me going home and i had to have my WJ brought out to me so i could pull it the rest of the way home..lol
