Differences in the trim pacakges.
I know what all the different trim pacakages are and where they range from luxury to bare bones but what actually makes each one unique. For instance SE and Sport are both at the lower end of the spectrum but they are usually very similarly equipped. What actually makes a sport different than an SE. The same goes for Laredo, Country, and Limited, they are all very similar but what makes each trim package unique.

I was thinking the same thing. So basically the only difference between SE and Sport from 93-96 is the black on the lower part and optional graphics. Or was the SE not available with alloys at the time.

Did se's have the option to add power window's, locks etc? My first cherokee sport had no power options but my current sport has power everything. I've never owned a se so im not sure what they come with but this could be a difference between it and the sport models. Also the 97+ sport models come with side body molding where as the se's dont.

SE is for Standard Addition.
most SE's you will see are manual windows, mirrors and locks. Manual tranny, stock steel rims(mine were 5 spokes). no rear speakers. no roof rails. just the basics. everything else was extra. ask me how i know =]

Funny how "having nothing" these days constitutes only having AC and Cruise. I didn't have cruise or AC in any of my first 5-6 vehicles lol.
I use to prefer the "SE" vehicles, less stuff to break and all. Now that I've been spoiled with power everything though it's a ***** going back to the crank windows on the danger ranger.

i know. growing up we didn't have ac, cruise, power nothing. the first car i ever owned that had working ac was my 85 bmw 325e about 7 years ago. all the cars the wife drives have to have ac but none of mine ever have it. my cherokee has the parts but it doesn't work and i'll mess with it but if its going to cost lots of money to fix, i don't need it. i have vent windows anyways and htey blow air right on you when you open them all the way

I know SE stands for standard edition. I figured there was atleast something that made it different from the sport but I couldnt put my finger on it. Now I know.
