I used to have people drawing that S*** on my Jeep all the time. I couldn't take it after a while, so I showed people what happens when they mess with me. I have gained tons of respect from kids, probably because they fear me lmao!

i guess i just need to mellow out a bit, never had anyone compliment or be remotely interested in any of my vehicles, i guess that comes from living in florida, my camaro and trans am were fun i thought they looked nice, but when you park that next to a lambo nobody cares about the f-body. Same with the couple mud trucks i had down there, nobody cares about an 82 bronco with 16" of lift and 38.5" tires because there are brand new f-350's and hemi 4x4's cruising around on 44's. You guys have posted some funny and surprising stories though. And to the alaskan: was that portage glacier? I only ask because i was born in palmer and lived in anchorage and wasilla till i was 13. Keep em coming fellas hopefully nobody has any stories about their xj getting keyed up or otherwise damaged by some a-hole.

So far the only touching has been me fixing the previous owner(s) mistakes and replacing missing parts...
However, the Monte attracts people who either think I'm a drug dealer or the number 3 incarnate....it's always interesting.

LOL! Well not on my XJ.., yet.., but it has happened to me in the past with my '79 Cherokee Model 17. For several years in a row, on my birthday, I would drive down to this 100 yard by 300 yard wide asphalted parking lot where one could park to view over a large body of water with a glacier within view, (half a mile away), feeding it. I'd park in the very middle, at water's edge, with a hundred and a half yards to either side. My German Sheppard Dog, and I, with plenty of eats, and fluids would just sit in my vehicle for the several hours admiring nature, yet I'd have my tape cassette playing some Grateful Dead, or some such genre, and for some reason others would park elsewheres but end up walking up to my vehicle and paying absolutely no attention to the fact that my critter and I even existed.., let alone giving any clue as to be even cognisant to the music playing. FIRST TIME, a dozen tourists from Asia park in a rental van, 50 yards behind me, (remember, it's a big lot), walk up to my vehicle, half dozen to a side, end up in a semi-circle of twelve standing around in that arc from front tire to tire, with their backs facing me and my dog, leaning on the Jeep using elbows, hands, etc., on my hood, using my Cherokee as a prop.., in order to have a few 35mm photos taken of their happy faces. Hmmm.., then they leave, get back in their van and head back to Los Anchorditch. SECOND TIME, two guys park about where the Asians did, walk up with some first generation video equipment; a battery pack the size of a suitcase that one carried, along with a tri-pod, whilst the other toted the camera. They set up exactly in front of me, like the Asians and began to video the far off glacier for about five minutes, (not much in the way of changes with the scenery on that overcast day) but they taped what they taped, re-packed their equipment, and then split.., and like the Asians, never even attempted to make eye contact. THIRD TIME, a mother with her adult daughter, and her friend pull up next to me in a Jaguar sedan, and hung out, never seemingly acknowleging my existance.., lol, until they could not get a re-start.., their story short I ended up 'roping' them 5 miles to a gas station/mech shop with my "******'em-Strap". FOURTH TIME, now remember.., I parked as I usually did in the past, i.e., up front and centered.., and a van of Bikers, without their bikes, pull up on my left, concurrently, a van of Nuns pull up on my right.., at the same time! Bikers are not looking at me, my dog, or the Nuns. The Nuns are not looking at me, my dog, nor the Bikers. Me, my dog are looking at everyone, enjoying nature, enjoying the eats; dog bisquits for him, and the cheese, salami, olives, red wine for me.., the usual fare btw, and then they leave. Me.., I left too, and have never gone back for a Fifth time.
Elsewheres.., I went into a coffee shop, got a to-go-cup, got back in my Jeep, and some dude walks along, and without even looking, or seeing that I was sitting inside the Jeep(17), he hopped up on the passenger side hood, above the wheel well, in order to sit there to wait for someone to come out of the shop. Been there, done that, lol, so I leaned on the horn.., and he acted bothered, i.e., as if what right did I have to disturb him so. Hmmmm...
I live in a woodsy area, and there is this sign.., "Trespassers will be shot--survivors will be shot again", but the idiots keep coming. One must be very, very careful.
Seriously, I do believe 1/3 of the population has been going crazy.., like the country song, "God is great, beer is good, and people are crazy".

People don't really "touch" my XJ, but it pisses me off when my girlfriend sets things on it. Usually on my TL, but sometimes on the XJ too. She puts things like her purse, etc on the paint. Then, she gets mad at me for getting mad at her! Right after i bought my TL, i had a dumba** co-worker who decided it would be funny to write things like "you're a homo" and a bunch of other stupid crap on the trunk of my TL, in dust. I noticed him doing it, ran outside and was basically yelling at him. He didn't think it was a big deal, and was like "it will wash right off". Nope...it was scratched into the paint. I made him pay to get it buffed out.

I get people who try to look into my jeep all the time. with a lifted jeep and 5% window tinting it makes people curious specially seeing the gauges mounted on the dash and hearing it start they wonder what I have resting on the inside. I wouldnt have a problem but thats why i have 5% tinted windows to keep people from seeing what is on the inside for a reason...
I always get asked If i actually wheel it.... As if the body dents, "pin striping" and swampers that have obviously been in the rocks was not enough of a clue...

Dont know about people touching my xj but one nite after work went out to the parking lot an jumped into the ol' girl an thought " who been smokin in here?" it took a few seconds till i realized it was a new employees jeep h aha ha. I looked around to see if anyone noticed then got out an inspected it an realized it was exactly the same as mine !! ha ha ha
no one would touch my jeep. if they did it would probably bite them!

This is long but well worth reading...
My friends know the #1 rule is don't mess with my jeep. So one day at a party they thought it'd be funny to put all the girls in it and then the guys take their shirts off and lay on it. They all ran outside to do it and 3 guys held me down. No kidding, I threw all 3 guys off me, ran after them and tackled one friend, slammed another, and pushed the last one into a bush. Thennn the girls locked the doors. Little did they know I know every detail about my jeep so I ran to the back hatch and swung it open and jumped it scaring all of them out... Never touch my jeep

Haha tire molesters are hilarious. Every time I look at my XJ i feel my tires, no idea how many people do it to mine but I don't really care.
My friend with a chopped XJ usually has people sit in it and take pictures during summer when the doors are off and its funny as hell. One time when me and him came back from wheeling (both doorless) and were parked at a place eating lunch a group of like 5 people were checking out our rigs, honestly I think its funny as long as no one messes with anything inside
The first thing strangers compliment on my jeep is my super swampers
