Then if it was the percentage he was referring to, he's still off. His error percentage with 33's should be at something around 15-16%

A couple of things: to start, the recommended tire for an xj is a 215 (at least on my '01). Second, the faster you go, the more the speedometer is off. If my speedo says 70, I'm really doing 80. Not the other way around where the speedo is fast. The speedo is slow compared to the tires. I radar tested this. When my speedo says 40, I'm doing 42-43. When it says 60, I'm doing 65. And as I mentioned, speedo says 70, I'm doing 79-80. This all on 33's.

So you'll send cash on lockers but your not gonna regear? Seems backwards...but to each his own. If you want to ignore the advice of the experienced, intelligent folks out there go right ahead.
Well, I haven't been in a situation yet where I would need more power from my gears, even when crawling I barely have to touch the gas at all in 4 lo. That being said, I have been in situations where I could have used some lockers. So that's my input on that.

That's about how mine is. I'll be about 5mph off in the 50-65 mph area. Radar tested, and I never go over 65-70 in my jeep. No point to it

Its not the power, power isn't everything. Its the gear reduction to keep speed as absolutely low as possible. Finesse, not power.

Down here in south Florida, people are ***** and get all hissy if they have to pass you. Thus I do about 70-75

People get speed and power confused. Power is HP and really only matters when it comes to dyno pulls, IMHO. Speed is what you need when wheeling. And I don't mean how fast the jeep is moving, the speed that wheels are turning; in the mud at least. However, when rock crawling, finesse is what is needed.

Not to burst your bubble, but if your speedo is reading 60 when your going 65, then your speedo gear has been changed. The math doesnt lie

All I'm saying is that it's been Radar tested. So it is what it is and that's what I'm going off of. Different radar systems/lasars too. Lasars/radars don't lie either as many have experienced in court.

Mine is the same way, and I can 100% guarantee you its the stock speedo gear, so you can take your math and shove it

Did you buy the jeep new? right off the lot? Im on 31's, and my speedo is the same as yours on 33's.. So either your jeep is magic, or the speedo gear has been changed.
