Easy way to install ax15
Ok a little background. I have built my cars (20+) and have always turned my own wrenches so I am very mechanically inclined.
I just yanked my old BA10 in favor of a ax15. It's a early ax with internal slave, 19/32 input that's 10 spline, etc so I know it will go in but my problem is this. The other day I spent a good 3 hours trying to mate the engine and trans together on my back in the drive way. Best I could do wa one floor jack was get it about 1/2" away from seating all the way.
This is with the transfer case attached which I am still soar from fighting with it.
Should I just drop it back out, remove the T/C from the trans and try again? Or am I just that big of a R-tard that I am doing something wrong. Nothing that I can see or feed it hangin it up, clutch was not touched when I removed the old trans. Please help me before I splatter my brains all over my beloved xj.

There's not really a secret to it. There are some pins at the top of the block that will need to seat correctly with the bell housing so all the bolts can start. I believe my torque converter hit the flywheel first though... Not sure how close your clutch came to it though.

I think there's some goofiness with the pilot bushing. Maybe http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f12/b.../#post11600201 ?

Yea I read that thread before.
My jeep is a 1988, the ax15 and t-case is out of a 1989 and it has the 19/32 nose on the input like a ba10 from what I gather I should be able to just yank the ba10 and drop the ax15 right into its place.
