Thats just how I look at it but it makes sense. Just not something I would do because I dont have the money for a trailer, but thats just me. I'm sure this person did if they can throw money around like they were for there xj.

So if it's shiny it doesn't get wheeled? Lmao some jeep mentalities annoy the hell out of me. I wax my jeep. I keep it clean. It's a dd I don't wanna ride around in something that looks like crap. Wax protects the finish an not leaving it covered in mud would help reduce some of these "please god help with my rust issues" threads. Hell I only put a cheater bar on one bolt when I did my long arm. The under carriage still basically looks like new. I don't understand the stigma about keeping your $#!t looking nice. Here's my shiny jeep that gets wheeled

Nice turn-key rig, wish I was a playa......lol
I think its worth what they want, and those tail light guards, put it this way: you'll never bust a tail light backing up ever again

wow..a few haters here...My Jeep is REAL clean and shiny and stays that way...oh and I use it too so what??. is mine considered a mall crawler??..I personaly dont like a bashed up jeep...do I wheel hard enough to lay it over or bounce against a few rocks? yes and when I have had damage on my other rigs it was fixed right away. I have my pinstripes on my xj but it has original paint and was a garage queen before I got it and I intend to keep it that way (view my photo album I take care of all my stuff)..I appreciate my things and play with them the way I want and keep them looking the way I want...That Jeep is nice and appears to be decently built ..I think some of you are jealous which is fine but dont crap on a guy that takes care of his junk.....yer not a better wheeler cuz you have dents dings and roofs ripped off if anything I would consider the opposite.... ..geesh

i couldnt agree more. stop the hatin......its a nice jeep either way.

i would love to have a 68 charger with 2 ft wide drag slicks and a huge blower, but i would never drag race it. would that make it a mall racer? or just a nice show car?

What I meant was buy a decent stocker and build it the way you want.

Haters - it's really sad how people will condemn others for having something nice. Not everyone enjoys having a rednek looking POS. A "bastard pack" or crappy rattlecan "flat" black anything will never see my XJ. Cameron, I'm with you on this 1000%. I hate dents & imperfections on my Jeep (altho it's getting harder to keep it pretty!) Chicks DO NOT dig body damage - ask me - I'm a chick. I have had dented doors, D-pillar, bumper, fenders ... and so on. Fixed as soon as I had the money to do so. And yet I run black trails on the rocks.

You should only talk about things that you have a clue about. I trailer my XJ to the rock trails. I don't have a portable garage to carry with me 5 hours away when I go wheeling in order to make immediate repairs to important components. I have had serious carnage while wheeling, including complete loss of power brakes at a mountainous location 5 hours from home. On that occasion it had to be driven home - and it was the scariest drive of my life. You try going down steep mountain roads & thru Philly traffic without power brakes. I trailer my XJ to ensure being able to get home if I break something vital. I don't travel hours to wheel junior trails or take it easy, altho I have done so in the past. I like to hit it hard & feel comfortable that damage to the heep will not prevent me from getting home. And so do many others.

Try to be a little more open-minded in your thinking.

x2. I'm building my own single car hauler right now because I got a 90 xj a couple weeks ago and I plan to beat it hard and not worry about driving it home (kind hard considering I don't have a title for it anyway). In the future I will be building a trailer to haul both of my jeeps/toyota or the fourwheelers and jeep. Personally I just think it's a lot easier to work on something at home rather than on the trail.

Yeah, and while the owner of the XJ on ebay clearly has money, you don't have to be rich to own a trailer. I have part ownership in a trailer that I paid about 40% of the purchase price. It's registered in my name & i pay for registration renewal & maintenance. That's a pretty fair deal (but only with someone you can trust!)

I'm making mine out of the skids that cnc mills are delivered on. I get them pretty much for free. They're all c-channel with braces about every foot. They're pretty freakin beefy. I also have 4 9000# mobile home axles that I paid a total of $100. The only parts that I'm going to need to buy are the shackles between the two axles that way they can move independently for better ride and to keep all the wheels on the ground, and the tongue.
