Electrical Shock

Electrical Shock
I live in the midwest. Every year when the weather starts to get colder and dryer I get a huge shock on my hand every time I get out of my jeep when I touch the door. Anyone know the problem or fix?

It's static electricity. What kind of shoes do you wear? Same thing happens here in Texas, and I'm sure everywhere else as well. Switch to solid rubber soled shoes or boots, and this should go away. I notice when I'm wearing my running shoes it happens, but when I got my boots on, no problem.

mix a tablespoon of fabric softener with water in a spray bottle. Spray all the fabric inside the jeep. May have to do it a couple 3 times a week for a couple weeks but it will usually take the static out and keep it gone for a long time.

I got leather seats, and I still get it. Also get it when just walking up to the rig in the morning (no carpet in my house either). Dry air....static everywhere.

put a drag chain on your jeep.....or just live with it. You think thats bad....try getting out of a saturn without getting a bite...darn plastic body panels.
