The essentials?
I'm still new to wheeling game. I went out for the 2nd time today and found i was missing a few things i could have, did or would need. i'm sure quite a few of you guys have gone through this. But what's YOUR list of essentials to go out on the trails with?

If you don't have a winch, then get a 4 ton come-a-long hoist.
I got mine at Pep Boys. It's made by a company called Torin, & is called "Big Red"
It has two ratchet gears for added strength.
I always keep one in my YJ, & will be getting one for my XJ real soon.

If you like to play in the mud but dont want to lay in it when you break, don't forget to pack a tarp. tow straps, d-rings, tools, spare parts for stuff that could break in off-road situation, water, flashlight, hi-lift (need one of these), and stuff like that... recovery points, hilift, more then 1 strap, full change or 2 of clothes (extra socks and shoes) cheep case or 2 gallons of water in plastic jugs for cleaning washing wiping ect water or Gatorade in a cooler, and last but not least a second rig to wheel with.

Somebody doesn't belong...
I never would have thought about a tarp. I wouldn't think I'd ever try and go through mud deep enough to need one, but you never know... good idea.

My essentials are - a couple of log chains, come-along, a piece of cable i made hoops on both ends i got off a 10 ton crane from work, ****** block, spare tire, 4-way lug wrench, jack, tire plugs, basic tools for belts, hoses and universals. fuses, a extra quart of oil and transmission fluid... Thats prety basic of what you need, i usually dont carry anymore then that cause our wheelin' is usually prety close to home.
