Face to Palm Moment for auto teacher
So today in auto club i was looking for some scrap metal and came across a mounted set of 31in bfg all terrains on jeep rims. I proceeded to ask the auto body teacher about it because i know he has a cherokee as well.
After a short conversation, i told him i was planning on lifting mine and he proceeded to talk to me like i was a complete idiot telling me about all the problems how you can "blow an axle" and all this other stuff. Being the student, i let all this go. He then told me he spent $500 on a 3in lift kit....with blocks for the rear.
But thats not all!!
He then asked me if i was going to do a body lift, since i only want to do 2 inches.
I had to walk away.

Sounds like he got his ACE cert via mail in order.
My shop teacher had a old skool Land Cruiser and would get pissed if you called it a Jeep. I would tell the new kids to ask him about his Jeep, oh it was so much fun.
My favorite was when this riced out Civic fell off the lift. Poor kid looked like he was going to cry. Oh, those were the days.

ASE not ACE certificate. And having ASE certificates means nothing more than the guy with the certs can pass a written test. ASE is not part of any government agency, ASE is just something some guys thought up and are making a ton of cash off of. I was master certified in auto and held five certs in med/heavy truck, I've let them exspire four years ago.
I know about the whole ASE cert thing, that was the point. Just makin' jokes.

You should tell him you've decided to do a 4" body lift along with an 8" suspension lift and a hack-n-tap SYE. That way you can fit some 40" boggers and still drive home if you blow an axle.
Then ask him if hockey pucks will be OK for the body lift. Official NHL pucks of course.
