so i looked under my carpet today and my floor looks kinda like swiss cheese (i love ny and our salted roads). well long story short i want to rip out the carped weld in some patches and undercoat the floor and leave it like that other. then really insulating the tunnel what else are the disadvantages of doing this?

ive been doing a lot research and the positives seem to be much better then the negatives.

I kinda did this, minus the rust part, and looked around for cheap rubber mats to use. Ended up using UPS conveyor belt material. Quite and cool just like before but much easier to remove and clean.

 

you hear the engine alot more, road noise, gets really hot on the side of your legs after long drives. right where your 4wd shifter is it gets hot there and on other side. but easier to clean, can tell where its rusting and makes your jeep look more like a jeep then a luxury station wagon lol
