Default found me a 2 door xj and here I go

Always liked the look of the 2 door Cherokee, and finally found one in great shape and one I could afford. anyhoo, it has a 4.5" lift but the rear is sagging about 2".
It has it looks like longer shackles, so I am going to assume the springs are weak. I am not sure if I want to add a helper spring, or just put 2" blocks in there. I do not really plan to do any wheeling with it, not for a while. What's the opinion on blocks if I am not wheeling?

Welcome to the 2 door club

Don't get a helper leaf and don't get blocks. Replace the leaf packs and you'll be happy you did.

Welcome Scrappy.

With the springs that bad, you need new ones, No band aid fix is going to work or last. New springs are money well spent. Check out Modified Cherokee XJ Tech section to get the good info on suspension and lifts.

agreed with the above that have chimed in.... I replaced mine last April with heavy duty full spring replacements for my worn-out 20yo ones. they were very reasonably priced. It was like adding a 3" lift to the rear of my jeep because the originals were so flat. lol.

Good info. Now am thinking of replacing my rear coils on the zj.

I always liked the look of the 2-door XJ's, but ended up getting a 4-door. Fully agree with replacing leaf springs altogether. No helper leafs, no lift blocks. It'll be worth it.
