Yeah guys just to clarify, I'm basically making a 4.5" kit. Right now I have a super lift add a leaf, 2" rustys coils and 2" spacers. The aal has held up surprisingly well and still gives me just under 4". The coils I got used and are very worn and only give me 3.5" total in the front. Most 4.5" kits settle to between 5" and 5.5" from what I've read. And I didn't mean to get in to the whole debate here, just wanted a clear answer as to whether shackles will help or hurt my pinion in this situation. Thanks for the info.

That's a fairly profound statement as most companies provide a tcase drop or shims with their 4.5" kit.

Thats what I thought too. That would mean we should all ditch our SYE's and get to work replacing ujoints or something not to get vibes with lifts.

Longer shackles raise the pinion since they are installed only at one end, but I dont think they will raise it enough. SYE or not at 4.5in you should shim the axle. 2 degree shims might be enough. If not swap them for 4 degree shims which is what I have.At 5inches I only get vibes if I remove the tcase drop.

put this lift on 2 years ago. Do a search for 4.5" rough country lift height, you'll see I'm far from the only one who found they had 6 inches of lift. That's taking the current measurement from the center of the axle to the edge of the fender flare, and subtracting the stock distance. Google will also quickly find the stock distance for you as well.

Why are you telling me to google anything? I have no questions. I have 4.5in RC leafs and relocation brackets. I am sitting at 5inches exactly after the leafs settled. Measuring from center of axle to flare only works if you have stock flares that have not been relocated so its not a good method for everyone, obviously. The stock measurement from top of axle tube to framr rail is 6 in and I am at 11. So my RC leafs did settle to 4.5. I was at 6 in right after installing it and I would be very pissed off if they did not settle. So either I was lucky or you just dont beat on the leafs enough. Anyways, I dont need to be schooled by you. I am just giving my feedback (wich is very accurate) to the OP.

I know you didn't have any questions... you seemed to doubt or disbelieve what I was saying, so I mearly told you to go look for yourself... lol And yes... I am running stock flares that have not been relocated. Schooling you? there's no need... I'm not anyone here's big brother. I simply shared my experience (which happens to contradict your "very accurate" feedback), and pointed out that there's alot of other examples out there that do as well. There's no point in arguing it, we all know how to search.

Ok then. I dont think I was making it seem like I dont believe you. You are the one who started going against everything I was saying. Anyways, thats in the past, who cares. I do have 4.5 RC leafs that settled to 4.5 however
