Got a 94 YJ for fathers day. My wife ROCKS!
Saturday my wife gets home from work and says to me let's go shopping. I say fine, whatever. Little did I know we were "shopping" for a YJ she found on CL (she knows I have wanted one since last summer).
She tells me when we pull into the place why we are there, and if I like it she will buy it for me. Well I did and she did. :-)
Now I can go a little more hardcore on the XJ as the YJ will be my DD.
Whoo hoo, as there are now 3 Jeeps in the driveway!

Pics coming soon- it is all stock and has a lot of body rust, but it runs well and the frame is solid. Will be a nice addition to the family! My wife bought it for me (or allowed me to buy it with our money) because she felt bad my XJ has been out of service for the past three weeks. Not that I mind driving my 2010 Dodge ram, but I prefer the XJ over the one ton diesel for the commute.
I gotta get some updated pics of my XJ up here too- it now has a new front and rear bumper that are not in my profile pics.

This is actually my 5th drop top Jeep- I have had in the past a 1979 CJ7 back in High School 20+ years ago, then a '76 CJ5 a couple years later when I wanted a V8. When I was in college I went back to the cheaper 6cyl and got a 78 CJ7. My very first new car out of college was a 98 TJ. I drove it until it died and I lived in downtown Chicago so no garage to DIY so I sold it and got a car... Been wanting another one ever since. :-)
I took some pictures of the YJ but it is too late to bother with the camera and uploading right now- I have been wrenching on the XJ all night- almost back together! All I need to do is hook the wiring to the alternator, put on the belt, new battery box and air box, fill with coolant and fire her back up. ** OK posted the pics up top and here as well! **
YJ was cheap but it does need a clutch- haven't figured out yet if it is the master or slave cylinder or the actual clutch pack yet. It grinds going into gears 50% of the time so I am thinking master or slave. No obvious leaks though and the master cylinder is full still even after the 20 minute drive home.

Pics Added.
Not too bad for $1200. He was asking $2400, but my wife told me we should try to only spend $1800 (she just sold a horse and that was her profit amount). I made him an offer of $1200 thinking we would haggle but he said "sold" with no hesitation. Cool.

Yeah, 2.5l with AX5 5 speed.
Would have liked a 4.0 but for the $1200 we paid I'm not going to complain! Picked up a hard top for it last night from CL for $60. Now I have to find a set of hard doors.
I have a second set of 31s in the garage, not sure if they will fit without a bit of lift (or some new stock springs, these seem a bit flat).

it is still a heck of a deal. the best i can find is an 89 with 2.5 and 5 speed for 2k. a little rust but the oil pan is cracked. same color combo as yours.
