I just replaced mine with the warranty after one and a half years. They have updated the design a bit with a spooler guide that helps prevent the cable from tangling inside the housing.
These winches are little power houses and good for the money, although they are really slow for winching and the wireless controls are laggy. I also don't really care for how the control box always gets scraped by the cable, I wish they fixed their design a bit there to be more like Warn or Travelers.

I have no experience with these but HF is selling the 12000lb one on a coupon now for 299. I saw the coupon in one of those equipment/car trader papers while having breakfast this saturday.

They are amazing for the price. These little sales that go on every once in a while make it worth the investment, just make sure to get that warranty
