I didn't know you could get a cherokee with a spare tire carier
from the factory, I always just thought it was after market

mines an old sheriffs jeep, but my shifter is on the floor like normal.

Yep my 92 has the column shift and i love it. It was an old town truck. 242 case, factory lsd rear, 10in rear brakes, extended idle switch

Yes you could but Its a VERY rare option on early model cherokee's. And if you wanted you could always get a full console and where your shifter would normally be you could put in a CB or something else if you wanted or turn it into extra storage. But those are just options.
