having a problem with goinng down in tire size
Trying to go fro 33 in tires to something smaller. I bought the jeep the way it is. It has 3in of lift and the rear tires rub when off road. My front genders are cut so I don't know if 30 in tires will look to silly or if I should try for 31' s. A little help, advice would be great.
Here a pic of how she looks now.

Take a look here and you can get an idea of what it would look like.

IMO 31's and a 3" lift are just about made for each other.

how are 31's gearing wise? right now when my converter locks up at 50 mph it stuggles to get over a smallish bridge. it's sad..haha. i also have bighorns so that might cause rolling resistance.

Do you have stock gears with those 33's? If so, the 31's will be a ton better! Personally i think 3" of lift and 31's are perfect. They won't look funny at all.

yeah stock gears and 33's. this jeep is my daily and play toy but i don't go off road as much as i'd like to....or much at all. i have a guy that has a nice set of 30x9.5 tires that wants to traade but they look tiny. there is also a guy with a decent set of Peerless force 4 31x10.50 tires that wants to trade. it will look a lot weaaker but atleast my mpg should come up some and i won't run when off road.

instead of changing tires, I'd get appropriate length bumpstops on it, will stop the rubbing and allow you a little more flex.

right now the rear can barley flex before it touches. plug it's my daily, as bad *** as these tires look, i don't need them. if i stayed with these tires i'd have to regear and that's more money that i don't need to spend.

that's how the bump stop helps, it stops it from rubbing so you can continue to let the other side droop further, gaining you more flex.

still gonna rub without those bump stops. I'm on 4.5" with 31's and haven't gotten bumpstops yet and I still rub.
