I just made my own harness. Pretty easy if u have some basic electrical knowledge.

If not, there's a putco harness and a LMC harness.

It's just SO SIMPLE.

Do the harness. Experience the results. Then, proceed on an upgrade path if you feel the need.

Do TruckLite LED headlights.

I love these things, and they draw so little amperage that the Putco harness and the like is not even necessary.

Gents!
I just got my H4 Housings in, and they came with some H4 Bulbs. (Low power 12v 60/55W)
I know that if I up the wattage I need a wiring harness. I plan on getting LED bulbs for the housing soon. They are low draw, and do not need a harness.

My question is, do I need a harness on these 60/55W H4's for the mean time? It's about the same wattage as the stock sealed beams, so I wouldn't think so.
I'm pondering just hooking one up for a bit to see, unless you guys tell me to keep my head outta the dark smelly place and not do it. ;o)

I could wait.... maybe....

It's only a $20 harness, so getting it won't hurt anything.

But once you go to LEDs, there's no point.

I actually got rid of my Putco harness because it was funking up my LED high beam function.

Get the harness already. It helps and protects your factory harness.

My new canned response:

It's just SO SIMPLE.

Do the harness. Experience the results. Then, proceed on an upgrade path if you feel the need.

And YES, you need the harness for anything above and including the stock lamps!!!!
