Default Headliner issue

My headliner recently started sagging. It's mostly on the front drivers side. I bought some headliner adhesive spray from autozone to fix it. Before I go through the trouble of pulling it out and fixing it would it hurt to just pull the enitre headliner and scrap it? Idk if that thin piece really insulatea much and I don't mind road noise but will everything mount back correctly without it?

Replacement is the only option, can't be fixed once it has decomposed. If you completely remove the headliner get ready to ride around in an empty dumpster.

I just did this but mine is a 95 and I was able to replace the dome light posts and the speaker mount with self tapping screws, not sure if your year is the same.
Theres a recent post asking the same thing and the picture that was posted of the dome light was very different than my year.

You will have to get used to a loud gong when you close your drivers door and I am anticipating a very loud ride when it rains. LOL

Thanks for the responses. Mines a 2000. I'm not too worried about the noise so much as how the speakers in the back will look without the headliner. How much is a headliner replacement?

I went to a shop and had mine done with the factory material done in one day $123.85 tax included out the door looks like new, for and extra $25 they would have done both sun visors but mine were fine.

I had a Blazer for a while with no headliner and it was hot, noisy a real PITA never again.

That's cheap. It's really amazing how much a headliner can help with temp control in vehicles.

I watched the video by bleepin jeep but does anyone have any experience fixing a head liner themselves? Mines just the corner over the drivers seat.

See the problem is once the glue starts to let go in one place its going to all over,Its better to recover the whole thing then try to spot fix it.

I've been an upholsterer for 30+ years. Have attempted to repair way to many headliners. Its not impossible, but you are way better off just pulling the old off, getting a clean mating surface, and gluing new material on.

It can be done but its harder and like i said its going to start to fall in other places in time. And plus you can cover it in anything you want for that custom touch.
