I was at Autozone a while back & my jeep was over heating. So this older guy walks up & asked if I needed help, he gave me his mechanic card & everything. But he cut my heater valve off!!
So I purchased a new one & can't figure out which way it goes.
& also I replaced my fuel injectors, o2 sensor, & a few other things but I still some how have gas in my oil. What things could be causing it??

You dont need the valve,, I took mine out of the 95 few years ago.. Taking the heater valve out is a mod most guys do that have it.. My 2000 didn't have one from the factory came OEM that way. So keep what the other mech did.

The heater valve should have an arrow indicating which way is up. But I bypassed mine. They are known to fail so I would recommend bypassing it. Easy job

If the gas in the oil problem is from running too rich, the MAP sensor is a primary suspect. The vacuum hose to the MAP must be secure and solid, no cracks.
Best of luck!

Ditch the heater control valve. That's not the problem.
