I actually just bought my first cherokee and I am 16. I paid 750 for a decent condition stock 94 cherokee with 150k miles as a reference point. I wouldnt buy one with a lift kit personally because you dont know how well the lift was done and if the vehicle was abused after the lift kit was put on. Also dont forget about registration and titling fees and taxes. Here in FL it costs about 400$ for initial registration and other taxes. Insurance is also a few pennies but if you can get on your parents policy it will be cheaper. So basically its better to get a jeep thats not as expensive and have a few dollars left over so you can fix stuff and pay for registration and crap.

Personally this looks like an ok deal but I would talk him down a bit.

If you can get him down to somewhere around 1400 this would be great because of its relatively low miles.

It might just be worth every bit of $1900, or maybe $1800. Can't really tell from just the pic.

All i can tell is it's VERY shiny and clean. It looks real straight too. I've never seen that Gold color on an XJ, i think it's kinda cool!

It has okay 31-10.50X15's and it must have a 3" lift.

Did you get a chance to call on it yet?

Okay you busted me.

Call it crazy... but yes, i bought a 2WD. I literally searched diligently for 3 entire months before i found the XJ i wanted. I must of looked at 30 Cherokee's, and most of them had some kind of issues. Mainly rust, broken door hinges, been wrecked, poor maintenance, and blatant signs of abuse.

When i went to look at this one, my mind was made up before i even got out of my nieces truck. I immediately knew that this was the one. I cannot stress how absolutely perfect it was!

The ONLY "bargaining chip" that i had, was it was a 2WD!

As i was shopping and gathering information about Cherokee's, i completely mapped-out my XJ "build". I then did a few thread searches on "4WD Conversions" and realized exactly what i wanted to do.

I grew-up wrenching on Hot Rods and i've "built" 2 straight axle Toyotas. It didn't take me too long to decide on this project!

Does it wheel?
Well... all i can say is, although it's 2WD, it has been there and done that!

This is now...

and this is the suspension that i will install during the 4WD Conversion...

Thanks cw50must

That's how passionate i am about XJ's!!!

Just so you know... The 4WD Conversion is VERY time consuming!

Ya might be better off shopping around for a 4WD...
