helper springs
So the po installed these helper springs since he towed a weekend warrior trailer with the xj. What I'm wondering is if I remove these will my leafs begin to sag? I'm trying to get a better ride in the rear. Currently it has a straight up and down shackle and these helper spring things which I think are the main culprits for the rough ride.
Sorry if the pictures are sideways.. that's the apps fault.

Anybody?? I don't know much about leaf springs but it just seems like theses helpers wouldn't be all that beneficial unless I'm actually towing heavy heavy weights. Which I'm not. Maybe a small flat bed with some dirtbikes or my motorcycle hitch hauler.
