I can see your point. I can't help but to experiment. This one turned out way better than I expected it to. One of the great things about our vehicles is that they are plentiful. There are many in salvage yards. I bought spares of every dash panel for 5 bucks each, so still have a stock set of panels just in case.
Nice...I plan on going back the yard maybe the begining of nov.

I dig it....maybe a little less chunky though. I'm doing a mild textured finish on my "spider web" door panels, when I get a chance to finish them. I might have to do the dash and center console too.

Same here. I was about to remove the headliner from a Cherokee sport with upgraded front and rear domelight and rear speaker pods for $25. Mine is the 2 speaker standard model. I didn't have my damn star bits with me to remove the seatbelts. Might have to go back tomorrow.

Anyway, your doors sound cool. Are you using bedliner or textured spraypaint? I tried some cheapo textured paint and it looked horrid.

Yeah I was kind of going for the chunky look. The can said rolling it on would make it chunkier than spraying, which would be the least chunky.

To each his own. I'm not sure the pictures do it justice IMO. As far as the fading, I wondered if the windshield would block the UV rays. Not sure though. I know it blocks some because my glasses won't transition in the vehicle. But, Herculiner now sells a UV protectant that can be added during the initial coat or once already faded. According to them, the protectant will bring faded liner back to new looking. I'll just have to wait and see.

And it probably looks better than in the picture.
Well the sunburn causing UV rays do, for the most part, get blocked, but the cancer causing ones do not get blocked by auto galss.
EDIT: UVA is blocked. UVB is not. Not sure which causes color loss.
