Default hi I have a question about tires

I am sure you guys get the tire question a lot. But I have a 1996 Cherokee with a 2inch lift, and was looking for a larger tire (I have 235 75 15's on them) for it. I was looking into 30 x 9.50 x 15 but also wanted a size that would be ok to run as a daily driver and not just off road. Any help would be appreciated. I just bought the thing and love it and plan on investing some money into this thing in the future, I just want to be sure I am not cutting myself out of highway time by only having a larger tire.

thanks in advance
Jimi

U can run 30s just fine, 31s may rub a little but a little trimming of the endcaps will fix that. 30s are just fine for a DD and your not going to have any performance or mpg drop that you will notice, your really not going to notice any difference with running larger tires till 33s+ if its gonna be driven more then wheeld then maybe look into getting more of an all terrian type tread pattern, that would give you more of a smoother ride, less road noise, but still perform well off road.

thanks for the quick response. I was thinking more of an all terrain tread. I just recently purchased the Jeep and finding myself loving it.

I guess maybe another question would be does anyone else has this year? 1996 4dr cherokee sport? and does it ride kind of rough?

my wife complains but I could care less as this is my driver.

thanks again

not 100% sure as I said I bought it off a guy who had already done the lift... but plan on trying to slide under on my next day off (pending I get a clear spot from the snow.) As for the ride no I don't expect a lexus, but it seems to only be rough at all when I hit 60mph, doesn't seem to be the shocks, but I notice it more when I accelerate... my father in law gave everything a good look over when I bought it and didn't notice anything out of the way... so I am not to worried about it... thanks for the responses
