good gosh this was so long ago! but yes the links a few pages back are the NorCal MR2 lights. at the time i had 8k's in there, they were out of the 6k's i wanted -____-

that setup is longgggg gone.. ( my mr2 at least ) ive moved on to bigger and better.. it cost me more then i wanted but. when you can put down BMW's, benz's and other car's. it was worth all of it.

Just take the time to align them properly, and you will be fine.

I don't want to do the whole HID/Xenon thing.
I just need "a little better" for my XJ.
Can someone verify that Sylvania Silverstar is a decent upgrade from aging OEM headlights?
OR do I just get a new higher output bulb?

My 2 cents, love the silverstar sealed beams. Especially now after the putco harness upgrade. Had them for roughly 2 yrs now with no problems. Good cutoff n bright white light

No. It was pretty easy DIY. Plug n play. Theres a write up on here somewhere. Makes 1 hell of a difference tho

Plug and play is about my speed (and sometimes, even that's a *****)
I am going to dig thru this section for ideas. Good idea?

i am about to start the projector/HID conversion soon as my ballasts come in.
starting out with these, the only problem i think im going to have is this lens is pretty darn strong and aiming them correctly might be a task

I just read up on all of the conversation here about people running illegal headlights. And not only is it against the rules to discuss illegal subjects on the forums here, but it's wrong. Completely wrong.

You should install proper lights as not to risk the safety of the road users you are sharing the road with, or, return back to DOT approved transportation lights. Some cops don't see the value in pulling you over because they can't force you to take the lights out right then and there, but they should.

Stock vehicles come with something called an HID projector. They do not just slap HID bi-xenon bulbs into stock H4 halogen housings like a lot of the forum members in this thread are doing.

More information on REAL Hid projectors (very pricey) here:

Trolling... huh...? Read more of the post before judging, and maybe research a little on HIDs. Would you rather I make a completely new thread and waste CherokeeForum server space doing so, or just use a thread that's already been created...

And another thing. There are so many HID threads on this forum that people have a thing or two to learn about information available on them.

This thread talks all about using projectors over just bulbs in the reflectors. Did you look at more than just the first two posts before going off on your rant?
