Unless you get true projector headlights, you are going to blind oncoming traffic. I had HIDs and I took them out because of this.
Now I have a heavy-duty headlight harness and some Autopal headlight housings. I'm perfectly happy with the light output and I don't blind other drivers.

All pics are with my bumper lights on, which are Hella 500 FF's with silverstars in them. Soon upgrading to 6000k hids from that ddmtuning site (thanks for recommending everyone)

edit: also, these are all taken with my phone. They do spread the light a bit wider than shown here, and the high beams make a VERY noticeable difference in person
