Homemade metal flare/rear bumper unibody tie in picture request
I'm looking to get some pictures and info on these two items, I wanna see what you guys have come up with as sometime this summer I'm hoping to fab some flares to replace the tj flares I currently have installed (keeping the same general shape), I have some ideas but I just want to see what's out there.
As for the bumper tie in, i have a rear bumper on the way that I need to add some tie ins for to make it a legit recovery point, I've seen some stuff, but again I want to see what you've come up with, with as many details and pictures possible.

Well I suppose I'll put the first post on my thread for those interested.
This link has some good info and pics on the tie ins and a different style tire swing out.

I'm sure this isnt the only variation of this style tie in, I'm interested to see more!
Also still interested in the flares, including tube flares, my attention is directed more towards a metal style without bent tube, but anything that includes mounting or the general stucture of said flares is helpful for my memory library, I know someone on here has some good info to share lol.

BOOM! 2 mods one pic
the flares are like 7/8" steel bar skinned with sheet metal welded to my1/4 guards. the bumper is tied into the 8 factory holes as well as 4 (or 5) more on the underside of the unirails. i just ran a pice of angle iron from the bottom of the bumper to them. there are nut strips inside the frame rails.

Definatly a tie in I didn't consider was going under the rail, most of the ones ive seen go into it. Easier if you've got nuts trips already in place, and on the flipside if you dont have any then the tie ins could double as the strips.
I like the flares, that's a good thread starter lol, the fact of mounting them to the guards is convienient, but also costly if you're not quite that far on armor yet.
Nice setup though, I wish I already had strips and guards for this lol. As I stated they Sure make a good starting point for both of these items. Well played.
What else do we have lurking out around the forum, don't be shy, share what you've got, there seems to be lots of us interested according to the view count lol.

Yeah I know they've got some, I'm looking to build the tie ins out of a scrap pile I'm making at work lol, so if i dont go with an incorporated style id probably make my own strips.

Those are good pictures, thank you, so the "nut strip" portion is just welded to the 1/4 8 hole mounting plates right?
What's the thickness on the triangular support from the mount plate down to the strip 1/4 or 3/16?
