RC 3" took about 3 hours. Installed the AAL's with the leaf still attached to the unibody. Was way easier than BMW suspension.

Did you unbolt the one bolt that doesn't go to the unibody. The rear one?

yep... toss em, they're useless... all they do is give you rubbing issues. works fine stock at 3", if you are really concerned about it, get longer links or disconnects. That drop bracket is going to give you a headache that isn't necessary.

Nope, left it in the shackle if I remember correctly. After I installed the AAL I just used a crowbar on the shackle to get the front eye in the correct position and bolted it back up.

Really? Why would they include it with the kit? And what would rub?

There is another 3 inch kit from RC with no drop brackets... But it also doesn't come with the different lower control arms. So maybe if I do one I have to do the other ? Would that make sense? Go on www.roughcountry.com and look at the 2 jeep xj 3 inch suspension lift kits. I have no clue what to do now. And I do the install saterday. I don't wanna run into any problems

Do a search for sway bar drop bracket and you'll see a few threads with people having that problem. Trust me, I'm telling you the truth. You don't need them, they don't benefit you in any way, shape, or form. I have no idea why RC includes them in their kit. I'm at 4.5" with the longer lower control arms that came with my rough country kit and not using any sway bar drop brackets... alot of people here are at 6.5" and not using any sway bar drop brackets. When you do your search, you won't be finding that they helped anything. again, I wouldn't bother with them.

Ok I believe you. I can always throw them on if I have issues I guess. I'm just worried about have flex issues

you're going to be disconnecting your swaybar from the axle when you want to flex anyway.

I know but I don't usually. It's a pain in the ***. Untill I get quick disconnects I'm worried that it might limit me?

Do you use disconnects?

I've been running my 4.5" for almost a year with the sway bar links removed. I should get some disconnects but other things have taken priority over them since it actually drives pretty well without them. That is due to the stiffness in the 4.5" spring though... 3" springs are going to be alot softer, allowing more body roll.
