Should of gone with 33s, or trimmed a little and 35s

I really think I could fit 33s. But don't want to trim and its a daily driver so gas would not be fun. Any one know anyother ways to check

Any other ways to check how much of a lift I have? Also if I want to get more flex should I get longer shocks?

Measure from top of axle tubes to frame rails. Stock is ~6" rear and ~6.75" front. Anything over that is lift.
To measure for shocks, disconnect your shocks and cycle the suspension. Measure where eye to eye would be for extended and collapsed length. Then find the right shock to fit. Frank at Serious Offroad can help you find the right shock for your application.

Any XJ or even Jeep that is over 5"s should strongly think about going long arm as the angle of your control arms must not be great unless the previous owner put in drop brackets. Frank at Serious Offroad who is an active member here has a great long arm upgrade kit and is very helpful.

Most 3 inch lift keeps can only fit 31s. So I much have more that that.

I can run 35s on my 3'' saggy AAL kit, I am trimmed but not much. Doesn't have much up travel but looks cool. I'll see if i can find a pic from when I through my buddies 35s on.

No pics with 35s on my work comp. But here's How I daily it but you can see there is plenty of room for 35s

Anyone have a stock 96 xj Classic they can measure so I can compare? According to a measurement from wheels hub to bottom of fender I have a 6.5 inch lift. And I know I don't have a 6.5 inch lift

Why not? Those 32s look tiny so it's not out of the question. Only reason you are rubbing is because you haven't trimmed the lowest part of the front flare/air dam. With minor trimming you can fit 35s

Just try the method of measuring from the axle tube to frame rail. It's not any harder than the one you already did.

Where is the part of your fender your talking about trimming? And yeah I have3 inch ahocks in right now but I need to figure out how much lift cause I might have shocks that are too small. Also Anyone know how I can get more flex?

Both measure to be about 12 inches

Basically everything below the bumper corner caps, the newer XJs had their flares stop at the top of the bumper whereas our older models wrapped around underneath, giving us less wheel room. I cut under my bumper caps on mine and haven't looked back. If you have 3" shocks then you might be fully extended at ride height. I would take out one of the shocks and measure the shock extended and collapsed from both bushing holes. The best way to get more flex is to work on your suspension and shocks. If you think you are on 3" shocks at that height then you won't be able to flex much. Are your sway bars connected? You shouldn't have one in the back and the front will limit your flex if connected. Another thing to look at are your control arms and track bar, are they stock? If so they they are significantly impacting your flex as well and ride. I would look at adjustable arms and track bar if you don't have them already, long arms would be the best bang for everything though, but more expensive. Hope this helps!
