bought it for $3200, put about $2300 into it for lift, tires, rims, rack, front guard, t-case drop, beefier lower and upper control arms, beefier track bar, RC steering stabilizer, Detours tire carrier, extra lights, brakes front and rear including calipers, after market radio/speakers/XJ Pod, and then a few misc things as well. A lot of it I've gotten from CL, JY's, or trades so I really haven't put that much into it considering all I've done. Big $$ saver is DIY with maintenance and putting mods on.

Bought my 95 ZJ for $2950, polyurethane rear track bar bushing kit for 12 bucks, and 45 dollars for a left front fender that even matched my paint. I got Neon fuel injectors and little trim pieces for nothing. So $57 not including what I paid for the Jeep in the first place. Still need to replace the front lower control arms, but that will be less than 75 bucks with shipping.

my dad paid $1800 for the xj back in 1999 from our mechanic. when he passed away in 2001, i took over the xj for sentimental reasons. since then i've put about $6000 on basic maintenance & replacement parts throughout the 9 year span which consists of the following --- 2x complete F&R brake jobs (i drive a lot), soft 8's & tires, limo tint, viper alarm, radio, convert AC unit form R12 to R134A, new radiator & hoses, water pump, thermostat, oxygen sensor, fuel pump/filter, battery cables (+&-), headliner kit, dynomax muffler, starter, turn signal switch. at 232k, i really don't my XJ will be slowing down any time soon. just as long as keep up with the maintenance. next to be replaced will be the suspension.
