I'm better than average at fixing rust and still put a premium on buying a rust free vehicle. Rotted out rockers means problems brewing elsewhere and it becomes an endless fight.

When it rains it pours
So I picked up the 2001 with the rusted rockers and chugging engine $500.00
And, I am picking up a totally rust free 2000 Friday - 1450.00

The 2001 is where my son is going to learn welding, sheet metal work, etc. he has 16 months till he can drive.

I'll get some pictures up later in the week

Good deals! I wish they came that cheap around here. It is very very very very rare to find a 97+ for under 2k. And that would be 2wd and beat inside and out.

And just like many people are about to say, be warned about the 0331 head.

Rust is the cause for most XJ's to be totaled in recent yrs., not accidents it's the one thing that can NOT BE REPAIRED all the time or even worth it as far as safety.

Amen to that. Like dating an ugly girl. If you think that, in the long run, she'll cut you any slack because you've shown pity, you're mistaken.

Might be fun to ride around in for a short time, though.
