First xj I got used from a dealer, 119k miles, 3500... I know better now.
Second xj I got from a guy on craigslist, 1991, 160k miles, $1000. Everything runs good, all new fluids, new tires.

I was exiting a parking lot when i first saw her near the sidewalk with 4 blown tires, no headlamps, broken windshield and tail lamps, junk in the cab. I put a post-it with phone number and wrote i was interested.
The owner called me the day after and it turned out that it wasn't running due to the fuel pump. We went on talking about price for an hour (around 1000$) till i realized that this person was a friend of my father, he ivited me at his house for dinner.
When i went there his wife was complaining that he hadn't bought a table for the garden yet, i jumped in the conversation and said: you give me the jeep and i give you a marble table that i paid 1750$. (had that stupid table sitting in my garden since ever, and absolutely didn't pay at all)
He said ok, so i got the jeep+750$ and gave him the table.
