invisible MAP sensor
Hi all, i need some help bying 1996 XJ.
The problem is that there is no MAP sensor on the common place, and seller says that it is normal thing, but i can't find anything about engines without MAP on the net. Is it really common thing? The car still can move on it's own wihout any negative signs.

It's not "normal". I suppose it could have been moved somewhere else but why? Can you see signs that it once occupied the space it normally does? Is the MAP mounting bracket still attached to the upper cowl/firewall?
I know that on mine, there's a vacuum line that runs from the throttle body to the MAP sensor. If it's the same on a '96, follow that vacuum line and see where it goes.

MAP sensor on a 1996 4.0 litre engine is located on the side of the throttle body.
