Well, we've had 2 of the 3 so far! LOL The tranny went out on the fiance's car and it's currently in the shop now and then this. Come to think of it, the same day there was a roll over accident with a jeep in Denver. I'm not sure how everyone was on that one though. I'm hoping they were ok.

LOL Thanks hotride!
The other guy's insurance was out yesterday to inspect the jeep and they are considering it a total loss. They didn't have an "estimate" on what they would give but I did some checking and kbb.com only goes back to 90. So I called the place I bought it from to see if they could tell me and their stuff only goes back to 90 as well. They suggested I look at nada.com under the classic category (as it is 21 years old) and there I found the lowest quote to be $3325.00. My jeep fit their description of this to a T so I'm going to stick with this.
He's claiming he had the green light even though he got the ticket and there were two witnesses that said I had the green. (other than the two in my car.)
So depending one what the final result is, I may buy it back and just part it out. if that is the case, then I'll post here first.

Heard back from Progressive today. (the other driver's insurance) They are offering a settlement of $1500. odd thing is they haven't finished "investigating" the accident before they called with an offer. About the same time they called one of my passengers, they were calling with the offer.

You don't have to accept their amount. Go to the district office. Once in one of my older cars, they offered me $800 and I disputed it. I ended up getting $2,600 after paying them $200 for the car. I replaced the drivers door and sold it for $900. It was a GLHTurbo and in original condition with only 45,000 miles though. The point is you don't have to accept their offer as the final answer. Fight for your rights.

Glad everyone is ok. Call me an optimist but I`m thinking from looking at those photos that I could make that thing daily driveable after a number of trips to the local junkyards.

Yea, they will try to get away with paying as little as possible. MY GF busted the rep yesterday when she asked where they got that number and they said the NADA. My GF countered with "Hmmm, thats strange, when we looked it up on the NADA's site it said $3325.00." I guess there was a lot of silence and stammering after that.
Oh, and this is the description the NADA has for that price range they have listed.
"Low Retail Value
This vehicle would be in mechanically functional condition, needing only minor reconditioning. The exterior paint, trim, and interior would show normal wear, needing only minor reconditioning. May also be a deteriorated restoration or a very poor amateur restoration. Most usable "as-is".
Some of the vehicles in this publication could be considered "Daily Drivers" and are not valued as a classic vehicle. When determining a value for a daily driver, it is recommended that the subscriber use the low retail value.
Note: This value does not represent a "parts car"."
I plan to fight this so it will be a long one I feel. honestly, if they offered $2500 I would have been fine settling for that. Considering that it was the other guys fault and it could have turned out worse than what it did, $3325.00 seems fair to me.

Sorry to hear about the XJ, but the important thing is that everyone's okay. Defitenly fight the insurance on it and then buy it back and either build a trail rig or part it out. and get some extra money out of it. Congratulations on the wedding!
