Jackstand Question
My jackstands aren't tall enough to hold the jeep up, so was thinking about welding them to brake drums from my D44 that i'm not gonna use. Will this be strong enough to hold? (they are not welded in the pics, just sitting on top)
Thanks, Harley

Best is to buy a taller set of jackstands and give yours to an inlaw with a Yota.
The contact points of stand to drum will concentrate the loading and limit the weld connection. There is not a simple process to the attachment.
As the drum is cast, you would need to weld with preheat and nickel fill rod. Will always be some concern of crystallization and possible stress crack!! Can lead to a failure and collapse. Not the desired result.
Get fresh stands. Really!

That's why I didn't do it yet. Lol. I was planning on getting bigger ones, was just thinking about doing this to get by for a couple days until I got paid. I'll just hold off though, I'm enjoying life. Thanks for everyones opinion.

X3, welding cast iron can be tricky, best left for the exports.
Had to fix a piece of farm equipment for neighbor a while back where someone tried to weld on a cast iron piece to a steel cross member. The welds look good, but absolutely no penetration into the cast. so I cut everything out and replaced it with steel.

I'm a welder, & cast iron is tricky to weld properly.
Above and beyond that, I wouldn't trust my life to cast brake drums. Especially ones that have been welded on.
