Jasper trans?
Sorry to start a new thread every other day but I have lots of questions. I'm looking to replace my 98 XJ and saw a jeep on craigslist 98 limited. It has little to no rust, every service record since new, and is loaded with options (high output 4.0, 8.25 rear, sunroof all that good stuff). BUT it has a jasper trans in it with 40k miles on it and the warranty is up since its over 3 years old. The jeep seemed to have some sort of vibrations/rumbling (much like drive line vibrations) right before shifting gear when accelerating. I also noticed a slight vibration/surging when I was stopped on a hill. Anyone know anything about the reliability of these Jasper transmissions? Is the rumbling a trans problem or other problem? Everything else on the jeep is in good condition. The Jasper is my only concern. Here's the add:

Hell make an offer on it doesn't have any miles on it at 146k and a used AW4 is only $200 or so if that is what it is and what I would replace it with for sure. It looks like its in nice shape with only a 3500 ask just make an offer with the problem brought to there attention.

Well I went ahead and bought the thing, the more jeeps the merrier right? Next up is swapping the lift from my other 98, which is now my parts jeep. I might even do a build thread if I feel inspired enough.
