(Any information wanting to know about diffrent style Cherokees post on here)

What is the diffrence between the Cherokee Classic and Limited? I only seen was the Limited had Lether seats and the Classic had the all same basic seats.

I'm pretty sure it's option based. The classic replaced the country in 98. I believe the limited came with leather seats and different rims, ohh and a badge that says limited. Haha

I have a question about your xj though. How is your 91 a 60th year anniversary edition? I'm liking the front end conversion by the way.

It was a 1991 Jeep Cherokee Laredo, but I removed the gray Laredo trim and installed the 2001 Classic Trim and also installed the 60th Edition on it.

The 90s XJ Country trim had leather seats, woodgrain dash trim bezel, two tone paint, body colored grille w/ headlight bezels, and pinstriping with the "Country" badging.

The 90s XJ Sport trim had all black trim with a small red stripe running the length of the vehicle, cloth seats, a flat black plastic grille w/ headlight bezels, and "Sport" decal badging.

I wondered, when I was like 14 my Dad almost got a 96 Cherokee Country. Then I got my Sport which is a 97 and I wondered what was different. Hope I find a Country at the junkyard, I kinda would like wood grain.

Just to add a tiny bit of trivia: I found out from my build sheet a few years ago that the Limited has "heavy duty" insulation. I have since discovered that the carpet is way heavier than non-Limited models, the padding is thicker, the door panel cardboard is thicker & so on.

I like my Limited.

You'd have to do a dash swap to the 84-96 style if you really wanted the woodgrain. I don't think it's worth it but its up to you man lol. If you wanna do a swap, let me know. We'll trade dashes!

I'm doing the dash swap in my 91, I upgraded to the 97-01 dash, But if going to upgrade, you must upgrade the cluster/wiring harness. Me I just did a half look, The 84-96 to the 97-01 is the cluster problem. They both look the same but the 84-96 has the info box that tells you check engine and ect. on the left while the 97-01 has all that in the cluster its self.

This is the best image of the cluster in a later dash, like I said the info box is the problem, see it above the headlight ***. The info box is connected to the cluster.

The 84-01 that I did. Mix Dash as I call it, one half is earler and the other later. but yours was wanting the wood grain. I belive they make wood grain for later Cherokees for the middle dash console.

Here was the options for the older Cherokees. http://www.carid.com/images/Jeep/jee...-dash-kits.jpg

Heres the later only wood grain that I seen for later models. http://image.4wheeloffroad.com/f/265...1_interior.jpg

If your going to do this you should know your going to need to cut somethings such as the dash bezel and the open area for the radio/AC controller, and I just moved the vent holes up to fit with the two vents on the top from that single bottom one. I was planning on moving my switchs down to the buttons panel too, plus you can wire your cig lighter down their too since the middle dash console will be taking it out. The plus of this is you get two cig lighter outlets. See the buttons/cig behind the shifter? http://image.4wheeloffroad.com/f/265...1_interior.jpg

I was thinking of filling in the side vent that runs up and down but not sure if I want to or not yet. The 84-01 dash is basicaly the same with some small tweaks just like how they did the body with making it rounded. Thats what I like about the XJs, they kept them the same to the very end of its life span, even in China, Did you know china did a Mix of the 84-01 XJ. They used the 84-96 hatch: http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...2500v.jpg/sr=1

This image is another members but recognize the guage Cluster and even the AC Controller? Same style out of the 84-96 with a mix of the 97-01
http://imageshack.us/photo/my-images...15517ehn7.jpg/

I was thinking of adding the white on my guage cluster with the orange needles
