Jeep Commander?

Ok apparently I need to move where ever you guys are up here northern AB our comanders are about 40,000 to 45,000 if you don't get the hemi I find the patriot is closer to the styling of the xj no where near as capable but way better than the cobalt my gf was driving in our 9 months of winter prior to her patriot cobalt is the only car i've ever driven that slides in the rear WITHOUT the ebrake. I like the comanders when all lifted up but I'd buy the comander for getting groceries and keep my xj for getting mud

I like the commander because I don't like the other Jeep models now besides the JK. I want to purchase a used one with the hemi once I graduate college to tow my XJ with. I want something heavy to tow with and the hemi will definitely have plenty of power to tow. Of course it would have a 2" lift with 31s

Funny, I too had a Cobalt and now a Patriot (for my wife). Not exactly ideal for off-road, but on road in winter I have never had anything that even comes close to the Patriot in manners. With the ABS/traction control/stability program, that things goes where you point it regardless of user screw-ups or road conditions. Much easier to drive in the snow than my XJ or my full size Ram.

My dad had a commander as a rental and I drove it for a few days.
It had some cool features, didn't look bad, and it seemed powerful enough... but I didn't trust the transmission. It had that auto/manual trans thing which was fun to play with as a rental, but I wouldn't want to own it. Just seemed like a ticking time bomb, imo.
Plus, it didn't strike me as an off-road vehicle. Big, low, soft, etc. Not that it couldn't be turned into something cool.... but that's a lot of coin and I'm a cheap/broke azz.
No $30-$40K Chryslers for me to beat up on.

Why?
Not all Commanders have a 3.7 liter. I own one with a 4.7 liter and they also come in the 5.7 liter HEMI.
No offense but a stock Commander with Quadra Drive II is just as capable if not more capable then a stock XJ. QD II Comes with front and rear electronic limited slip differentials.
Here are a few lifted pics.

Well first off it looks like a turd. Second IFS, this is where the garbage part comes in. And third quadra drive. Just more electrical componets that will mess up over time. One of chryslers down falls. My 2 wheel drive cherokee could go places the commander wouldnt dare go. The commander is a chrysler fail(wheeling wise), just like the new grand cherokees. Im not going to even say anything about the engines. Lets see one run for 200,000+ miles. Its fine as a daily driver as long as you stay on the road.

Thats funny because it looks pretty similar to the XJ. Anyways, I have been a member on jeepcommander.com for 3 years now a super moderator on xk-forum.com and havent heard of one person having any issues related to the quadra drive II. Your pretty ignorant if you think your 2 wheel drive cherokee can go places a commander wouldnt dare go. I wheel blue and black trails at Rausch Creek in Tremont, PA with my Commander and Im pretty sure your 2 wheel drive cherokee wont make it down those trails. I think you need to watch the youtube video I put in my first post. Your clueless.
