sounds like a case of the angry sparrows.
you need to rebuild the double cardon joint in your front drive shaft.
that consists of 2 u-joints and a centering ball.
sadly, not very cheap, but it is fairly easy to do.
i have gotten away with replacing the 2 u-joints and just tearing apart the centering ball and fill with clean grease. been good for 3 years so far.

if i'm wrong, then it could be a number of things...
