Jeep Dana 40????
A guy in my neighborhood, also driving a Cherokee, has some cleaned up Dana 40's out of a Jeep? He wants 250 for them both, front and rear. So confused...

I'm gonna have to go back and look.. the guy sounded borderline retarded. But I also found out he rides on our land... If they checkout, maybe we can make a deal

I don't recall there being a "Dana 40" axle.
There was a Dana 41, which was (I believe) used under some later military Jeeps (M38-ish.)
The D44 has been used under damned near every vehicle line going, front and/or rear. (The D44 was used fore and aft under the SJ for a few years, as well as the 1/2-ton J-series.) The D44 is also a common front axle under light trucks, and used in the rear under half-ton trucks, compact SUVs, and some passenger cars as well.
