I do not want to post his personal info on here, but do a quick google search for his email address. The second link that came up (the first one was this thread) appears to be a data dump for an SQL file that has not only his full name but his address as well. If you can not find this file let me know I saved a copy of it incase it dissapears. I do not want to post all of his information, but his name may be Gene Taylor and he may be from Virginia. Hell this file even has a phone number that may or may not be his........

Never pay as a gift... Unless u personally know someone and trust... 3% of $145 is only 4.35... If someones willing to loose a sale over $4 then screw them anyways... Had a guy that wanted me to pay paypals fee on a $20 sale or send as gift... I said I was sending him $20.05 or whatever it was that it was stupid... The stupidity of it made it not even worth it to me... ended up sending the $20... sellers should already know paypals gonna get a small amount...

On a side note that's on reason dudes should never proposeon a girls bday or Christmas. Therimg is then seen as a gift and he cant get it back if she decides to kill the engagement.

I think you may be jumping the gun a bit prematurly, it's only been a few days.
I sell alot of parts, usually i ship in a few days, other times it can take a week before i can get to a shipping hub.
However, his lack of commununication is BS. He took your money he should respond to your questions. Your PM's and such are probably anooying to him and he figures you'll get it when you get it. Not a great way to follow up a sale but i have been there too... some buyers expect their shipment be the only thing that should matter..
On the gift thing, dont send to someone who you havent inteacted with or seen around for some time. Research their screen name and see how past transaction went. I sometimes ask for payment as a gift when i feel my part is going real cheap, add the fees, fuel to shipping hub, packing materials and shipping itself and it can add up. Espescially when your dealing with a group who tend to lowball.
Paypal wont be of any assistance. I'd give it another week nd star calling him. If he ignores you start calling the student affairs dept at his school.
Hope it works out for ya, i'm hoping it's been sent.

I think the core issue here is he won't respond to emails. Shortly after people started questioning him he shut off his PM's. Needless to say he can't stop me from sending him PM's. He's been on and he won't respond. His behavior seems very shady. Granted it's only been 5 days but a response is in order even if he hasn't shipped. I'll keep an eye on this for now.
Since it's only been 5 days lets keep things under control. We'll see if he steps up and does the right thing and contacts the member.
Also lesson here never ever ever send any money using paypal as a gift unless it is truly that. If you are purchasing items via paypal always use the traditional method. If seller does not want to eat the fee then move on and find the items elsewhere. I have sold many items over the net and always eat the fee. It's a part of doing business.

I am also into this bloke for nearly $100.
I am a Lutheran minister from Australia, and was going to grab a pair of 1" shackles off him.
I paid on paypal, and not as a gift. So i might get mine back. But this is only the third thing i have bought on this forum since joining from Down Under, and it has really put me off.
I have never been ripped off in the Jeep Community in Australia. Not once.
I am not saying that this is a rip-off. It might be quite innocent. He might have had some computer issues or something. I always try to explain others actions in the best way i can.
But we will see i guess. At least i have recourse through Paypal.

This sucks, any updates on anybody being able to get ahold of him. I almost bought those lower control arms and fenders he was selling but we couldn't agree on a price. I'm glad I didn't now
