I once bought a jeep from a guy, said everything was fine. Like a day later on a long trip the transmission started acting up. Tried to contact seller, wouldn't contact me at all. It was a small dealer like four hours away from where I lived. I filed a civil suit against him in the small claims court (no lawyer needed) and took him to court and won $2000 for a new transmission and all my filing costs. Only problem is you need to do it in their county. Also took like four months but persistence is the key. Don't give up

I live in Asheville, NC but I didnt try searching for his info. OP, try posting this on the local site NC4x4.com and I'm sure some other offroaders including me will have a talk with him. Some may even know him on there

Wow. Never seen a thread blow up like this.
This has gone on long enough. If you want, the Feds can get involved! That usually puts things to a rest.
It's been way too long without some kind of contact- email, phone.
He stopped accepting PM's
Others have been ripped off/hassled by this, er, fellow.. (I'll be nice)
All this tells me is he is a thief. If you were any kind of businessman, you'd have handled your business early Monday AM: phone calls and emails, etc. If its not all handled by Monday evening, then Tuesday AM it should be done.
Sorry for your hassle. If I was anything but beyond broke I'd really like to help you recoup some of the loss. But jobless doesn't afford jack.
