If you have his address call the local police and see if they will help. Prepare to have all the documentation and be professional and courteous with them. If its a smaller town chances are you may have better luck. If all else fails haunt him, facebook, topix (in his town), etc. Google and google more, look for relatives phone, mail, and email them. Worse case you lost your money but maybe you can make him look bad to someone he may care about in his life.

No we had the deal set up when he stopped replying to me. I now know why he stopped replying lol.
Someone quoted a post of his in my for sale thread & linked me here.
The deal was I send him my tires, he mounts mine/dismounted his & ships me his + 100 cash. Doing it this way because its a only DD, while I have a bike I can ride if the jeep is down.
Glad it didn't go through.

Over there you have guys from every type of occupation, so if you can't/don't know how to get info, they sure will. Theres a few threads where they tear guys apart because the "bad guy" won't do right, won't return money ect ect ect.
Let pirate4x4 get ahold of this guy..post & link him here, and let them know how many are in debt to him now.

Just recently...maybe 4-5 days max. Jeepdude was pm'ing about a tire trade..his 31's he has/had posted for my 33 km2's + cash.
I send him my tires & he sends his + cash. I felt sketched sending a guy on the other side of the state 1000 worth of tires without some kind of collateral, and in one of my for sale threads, he even offers his 3.5" RE springs vs cash..
And paypal WILL help you even if you gifted it. You have your PM's or txts or emails correct? Thats your proof that it was a transaction for goods! Especially if you have the one where he gave you his paypal email, and asked for you to gift it. You CALL paypal and talk to them directly, if you get the run around, wait & call a little later. They WILL help, but it seems some of the will help while others give you the "oh well your screwed" line.
Link them to this thread, and let them know you aren't the only person to be scammed/ripped off.
Jeepdude seemed like a great guy, I had his number to txt him pics but didn't save it..wish I had now. But he seemed straight when we talked..idk it may be a fluke, but his lack of communication isn't helping him here.

Yeah, except the part where he wanted Cheif to send HIS tires first, then HE would send his tires and the money back. If he didn't send his back then he would have a set of tires he wanted for free.

Not to sound like A total "B" word... But thats the most used BS line! This still doesnt excuse his reason for being on the forum, and not replying to any PMs to explain his self. Jeeze if my mom was in the hospital, and I was scammin someone, I mean If my mom was so sick in the hospital, I would not be on CF... Especially ignoring all the PMs about the scam... i mean money I took from another person.... Just sayin!
OH and yes I told you Paypal will help. Just provide proof he was scammin from the get from the begining. Emails, PM and such.

PayPal wont do anything since it was it was outside of ebay. I however have a friend in the LA county sheriffs department and I spoke to them, they said the cops wont do a whole lot becuase of the monetary amount, they told me to call my bank and they refunded the money on the spot. I just have to fill out some paperwork and im good to go. Id recommend that you guys do that and then post this all over NAXJA and Pirate and all that.

Smart thing to do is get a chargeback from your bank and walk away with your money. Dont even bother with Paypal. If you say the $145 was one weeks pay then im sure you didnt pay using paypal funds rather a debit card. Tell your bank you got scammed n you should get a refund pronto. Paypal will then seek their money from jeepdude and it becomes their problem.

And then what, when school boy didnt send you his or the cash? Were you willing to seriously take that chance? Are you close by him or something? Was he footing the bill on shipping? I don't disagree that if thats whats happening he should be held responsible.
He was covering me to ship my tires to him, and then covering his own shipping as well. It was a fair deal all in all, and if would of kept replying through pm's he would have my tires currently lol So I am glad I was linked here to see whats really been happening with this guy.
