Default k& n cleaning

May be a dumb question but what is the best way to clean a reg airbox K& N filter? I threw out the directions n its about time for a cleaning. How much oil do u add?

the ones i have always had said wash with soapy water and let air dry, after dry re oil. i remember it did say DO NOT dry with air chuck. this pushes particles deeper in filter. just a thought but you might find specific directions on their website

i always applied a very light coat of oil. if too much i have seen them mess with the MAF sensor

The best way is to buy the kit, it comes with a spray cleaner and spray oil. It will tell you how to clean it on the kit and as far as oil you want to make sure that the filter element is all red, the oil is red but you don't want to put to much on either.

Just buy a spectre filter for $19... costs $5 over recharge and will flow and filter much better !
