measure once cut twice.
seriously though use some tape and cut through that to prevent paint chipping as you cut other than that just take your best guess where they go and start cutting.

Good luck, it shouldn't be to bad.
Use masking tape as mentioned above, seal with silicon, use stainless hardware. I had to make custom clips to hold mine in.
I also made covers for under the hood, but they are not needed and i never use them.
Some pics of mine for reference.
P.S. it really does keep the temp under control off road.

no, but I cut out a cardboard template first, and made sure it was a bit smaller so I had room for error. The last thing you want to do is cut the hole too big. Also, put something under the area of the hood that your cutting, I used a cookie sheet, this way you can assure you don't cut through any of your under engine components.
