I am going more lift and possibly cutting a little more to fit 35's and keep my flex. Also have a few more upgrades since that picture.

So, I posted in the intro area, but I'd like to share my daily that I picked up a few days ago. Previously, I have had 2 ZJ's, a YJ, a 96 2dr Upcountry XJ, and a 97 Classic.
This is my 01 Limited. I would like to do the OME 3" and 245/75's on the limited wheels, but currently just mending, tuning up and such. When I get income tax, I may pick up a set of A/T in 235/70 and 1.5" budget. The Coopers on here now are nearly new, and I am not a serious off roader, but I do kayak/canoe, so I dont want the roof too high.
287k miles.

291k as of today. currently it's sitting in the garage waiting on a thermostat housing. i'll try to remember to get some pics, it looks like the factory one warped and eventually cracked. haven't messed with it in years and it randomly started leaking. [/size]

Except for when I'm working on it, I drive mine daily which includes camping, kayaking and towing with it.

Reviving this old thread as I never intended my current trail rig XJ to become my daily driver but it has - temporarily that is. There are plenty of compromises made that make this not the best thing in the world to drive from A to B and it currently suffers from a failed heater core, but it's working and is super fun around town.
High level specs are: 99 Sport factory 4.0 ax15 5sp manual 4x4 (NP231) - original drivetrain (expect axles) with 198K miles. 4" short arm mix-and-match lift with 33" tires, 4.56 gears, ARB front, TrueTrac rear (glorious), "supporting mods" - it averages 15-16 mpg with a corrected speedo. I routinely run between 65-75 mph on the highway in the far right lane mostly - rpms hover around 3k at that speed. Around town, it has enough torque to almost never need to be out of fifth gear and second gear starts are easy.
I wish it had a second overdrive and it really needs more insulation inside (my interior is partially removed but I do have full back seats) but the suspension is great for the rough roads of western North Carolina.
Again, I don't want this to be my daily driver but sometimes, it can serve that purpose and do it well. It's currently our only vehicle at the house (the rest of my/my lady's fleet are scattered around at shops and storage units in various states of being old vehicles).
