Default Let me know what you think...

I been trying to find me a damaged steel cowl hood to cut the cowl part off and weld onto my hood, but having no luck finding such.. So, i forgot this old Torino scoop was laying around, still has the factory functioning lights in it and all.. This is just sitting on the hood, what do you guys think, yay or nay?... Of course it'll be painted to match the hood if i do use it...

It wouldnt look bad if it was off to the side where the air filter is so you could get that true "ram air" effect, and i think itd look better off to the side but thats just my Opnion on it

You could also turn it around to help reduce engine bay temps..

but thats a good looking scoop, no offense to the other but it a lil big for the side.

See its open on both ends, so being turned around everyone would see it was a scoop put on the wrong way. If i put it on the way its sittin, it will let air come in and also engine bay heat go out the back side.

I think it looks good where you have it in the picture.

You don't need to apologize for voicing your opinion. Not everybody will agree with it, but that's why it's called an opinion and not a fact.

Well.... try this.. if you really want it right in middle.... cut a small hole in hood where you want it to go... then just tape a ribbon to hood and drive down road... if ribbon flaps outside hood then air is trying to come out... if the ribbon is sucked down in hood then by all means put hood scoop on faceing fwd..raming air in... if it forces air out.. maybe put it backwards... altho wont look as good... will acually work tho... idea is to help get the hot air out right ?

That is correct, the way i see it will work, is when going down the road it will let cool air in and while riding in the woods it will help hot hair escape. Though really, with a wore out clutch fan and still the factory electric fan kickin on and off, my Jeep never gets over 160 to 170 while ridin around in the woods. And thats with half **** antifreeze in it from the previous owner.

Im not a Ford man, someone actually had it bolted on an S10 hood and i ended up with the hood, kept the scoop and scraped the hood. I know where a prety nice Torino body is sittin right now, the boy who owns it has been giving me hell about putting a Ford scoop on my Jeep. Jeep is Crysler, i wouldnt dare put it on none of my Bowties lol.
