Did you look at ZJs or WJs? Iron rock offroad is in Shakopee MN and have a huge selection of lifts etc. for WJs.
i was really stubborn and didn't settle for anything other than an XJ... so much harder to find and looking back I'm not sure I'd be too bothered if I had a ZJ or WJ instead.

It’s a ‘98 sport. 144k no rust. I paid $1,700. Drove the thing 200 miles damn near at 70mph the whole way with no issues. There’s a book full of maintenance records the guy left with it, he passed recently and left the jeep to his daughter and she had no desire for it.
Has a dent on the passenger side and the exterior trim on that side is trash. Also has some awful mail carrier style lights on the back hatch that I need ideas on how to get rid of lol. Though It was never used as a mail jeep. I was told the lights were “just his style”
But all in all I’m beyond happy with the purchase and glad I held out for what I wanted.
I’ll post some pictures tomorrow!

Hopefully he is not along the side of the road somewhere waiting for help. I bought a stock 2000 with only 62k miles on in a few months ago. I am replacing the cracked head now after replacing rusted brake lines, etc, etc. My recommendation is that if you buy one of these you must be willing and able to spend some time repairing it and not count on it as your only vehicle. For me it was something to play with in my spare time.

A few quick pics, I know they aren’t best. Forget to grab one of the interior but there’s no tears or sags just needs a good cleaning.
I’m not really concerned with the dents on the passenger side at the moment. I do want to get the exterior trim off though.
And let me hear some ideas on removing those damn lights on the hatch!
