Around my way with the muddy trails through the woods its the other way around, you could virtually weld your suspension solid and as long as you've got at least true 3wd you'll go further then someone with a high dollar super flexy lift and even limited slips at both ends. Me personally I'd rather have true 4wd and a good set of skid plates.

I could do one wheel burnouts in my cherokee. Now I can't.

I also don't know how they rob the engine of power...
But that is besides the real point here.
You sure all 150 of those people you "outwheeled" in the smallest rig were locked? Did you not get stuck where someone with a locker did get stuck? Did you take the same line? Same tires? Same tire size?
But that is besides the real point here.

I never got hung up. Where a few other locked vehicals did, but never said I outwheeled anyone.
I got to watch 50,000 dollar rigs with hydro steering running 40s wheel up some stuff I wouldn't attempt. One of those rigs was not locked front or rear surpriseingly. He made the same lines.
And yes. A locked yota with 35 km2s had a heck of a time through a muddy ditch to a steep hill. I have 32s took the exact same line and flew right up it. Another locked yota struggled there with 37 pit bulls. Three wranglers with 35s one had locked rear were stuck there when we came through. We had to pull all of them out.
Do you really believe wheeling is all about size and lockers?
Again I am preaching set up before dollars and confidence to go out and have fun even if you don't have the bling the other guys have.
I think you guys are trying to create a locker vs no locker argument. Which is stupid because everyone knows lockers are better than no lockers.

Again lockers are great, never would I say they aren't. I am saying g for a soccer mom Cherokee there are more important things unless you have the dough.
But this is entertainment talking about this stuff

Shockingly my jeep with long arms and a very decent amount of flex does better then my friends with the same setup and i run no lockers and they run front lockers i personally try to keep all 4 wheels on the ground at all times and to me people with lockers tend to think they can climb anything because they have a locker lockers are great but every thing i attempt in my jeep without a locker gets thru so no lockers for me

If you didn't get stuck and people with lockers did, good for you. But I wouldn't go telling people that lockers are hype.
Also you can get a spartan for the rear for like $350...
It's not really like they are monetarily out of reach and it is less of a bling factor and actually serves a purpose.
Do you absolutely NEED them? No. Do they help out immensely and are they well worth the money? Yes.

True but any normal guy who owns a jeep wants to go have fun in it
I have 2.5in lift and 32s. Thats pretty close to soccer mom.
Imagine my surprise this weekend!
I am admiring my jeep all by myself think man! thats a pretty decent off road machine!
So I show up to this event with my BEEF cherokee only to be greeted by trucks and buggies that could crawl over my jeep no problem. LOL
No one told me what class event this was! I figured I could go anywhere anyone else could. LOL Shoot after seeing those rigs I was too embarrased to even approach the rti ramp!
But by the end of the day I realized that everyone was there to just have fun. And really didn't care I drove a small rig. The guys were great and I never had to get pulled out which was great. I didn't want to hold anyone up. There was a high wall I did manage to climb. Me and one of those decked out rock buggies made it. Didn't see anyone else try it but I heard there were alot of attempts? So that swelled my head for a while
I just figured I was lower to the ground than anyone so there wasn't anything to worry about?
I will have a set of air lockers. I travel with this jeep, love a nice ride on the road. Daily driver. So I don't want any locker I can't disengauge. Thats why in my origional post I kept stressing street jeep. As in air lockers or nothing.
Its all good, no worries

i have one in the front, its invisible on the street, don't even know its there. i can't say i've ran one in the back, but from what i've heard its not hard to adapt to driving with a rear auto locker.

12 people tried to climb our new rock hill in my buddys back yard and only the 3 people with lockers front and rear made it. With open diffs you could not even get to the hill. With one locker you could make it to where I am at in this pic. With two lockers you could make it over and bend the crap out of your steering lol.
